Ohio LLC

Ohio LLC Information

A Limited Liability Company (LLC) in Ohio or Ohio LLC is a form of a business entity that combines the benefits of a corporation with the benefits of a partnership. Corporations provide limited liability to its owners/stockholders (meaning, generally, that the owners are not personally liable for the debts or obligations of the business) while partnerships provide pass-through single taxation to its owners (partners).

Corporate Filing Solutions offers online LLC formation services in all 50 United States plus Washington, D.C. Our services are fast, reliable, and affordable!

Benefits of Forming an LLC in Ohio (OH):

Taxes: An LLC has the flexibility to be taxed as a sole proprietor, partnership, S-corp or C-corp.

Pass-through Taxation: Typically, Ohio LLCs will choose to be taxed as a partnership to avoid double taxation, which occurs in corporations. This allows LLCs to distribute their profit among members who then report it on their personal tax returns. The LLC is not a taxpayer, but often is required to file a tax return.

Limited Liability: The owners (members) of the LLC enjoy personal protection against some or all liability of the debts and obligations of the LLC.

As a newly-formed LLC, you’ll probably need to submit a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). The BOI report provides the federal government with basic information about your LLC and the people with the most power over your business decisions and profits. Starting January 1, 2024, this report is due following company formation. There’s no fee to file, and your information does not go on the public record. This report is a little complicated, but we can make filing painless with our $9 BOI report filing service.
