Corporate Filing Solutions, LLC (“CFS”) respects the privacy of its customers and other users of its website (www.FilingsMadeEasy.com) (the “Site”). CFS does business under the name “Filings Made Easy” and any references in this Privacy Policy to CFS or Filings Made Easy (or “us”, “we” or “our”) refer to CFS. To that effect, CFS has instituted the following Privacy Policy:
This Privacy Policy explains how Filings Made Easy collects the personal and business information of its customers and other users of the Site, how Filings Made Easy handles and protects that information, and what customers and users can do to help protect that information. Filings Made Easy may change this Privacy Policy from time to time to accurately reflect how Filings Made Easy gathers and manages customer and user information. All changes to this Privacy Policy are effective upon posting to the Site without notice.
Collection of Information
To effectively process a customer order, Filings Made Easy must collect some personally identifiable information, such as the customer’s name, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone number, and credit card number (“Personal Information”). For the purpose of forming a corporation or limited liability company on behalf of a customer or providing other services, such as registered agent services, Filings Made Easy must collect some information about the business such as the name of the business entity, a brief description of the purpose of the business, the name and address of the directors, officers, members and managers, and information about the stock or membership interests of the entity (“Business Information”).
Some filings made with government agencies become matters of public record, which means that the information included in those filings is accessible to the public. As a result, some of the Business Information Filings Made Easy collects from customers will become a matter of public record once the documents that contain that Business Information are filed with the applicable state or county agency.
The Site automatically collects anonymous information about users. For example, the Site automatically gathers a user’s Internet Protocol address, which Internet Service Provider the user utilizes, statistics about how users navigate through and use the Site, and information gathered through the use of “cookies.” A “cookie” is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. Filings Made Easy uses cookies to help Filings Made Easy understand how users choose the Site, and to know when users have accessed the Site from a paid advertiser, an affiliate website, or a strategic partner website. Filings Made Easy also compiles statistics that track the usage of the Site. These statistics are used for internal purposes only and contain no Personal Information or Business Information.
Solely for the purposes of confirming valid traffic from certain pay-per-click search engines, IP addresses for such visitors are monitored, and may be compared to the records of that search engine.
How Filings Made Easey Protects and Uses Personal Information
Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, all Personal Information and Business Information entered into Filings Made Easy’s secure online order form is encrypted with secure server software to protect it from unauthorized access. Filings Made Easy works to protect the security of customer information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. Filings Made Easy reveals only the last four digits of a customer’s credit card number when confirming an order, but is required to transmit the entire credit card number to its credit card processor during order processing.
Filings Made Easy uses the Personal Information and the Business Information of a customer to fulfill that customer’s order and to respond to customer service or support questions. Filings Made Easy may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on Filings Made Easy’s behalf. Examples include fulfilling certain portions of orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mail, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service for certain portions of orders. These companies and individuals will have access to the Personal Information and Business Information only as necessary to perform their functions, and may not access or use it for any other purpose.
When users type information into Filings Made Easy’s secure online order form, but do not complete the order process, that information, including Personal Information, credit card information, and Business Information, is temporarily stored for three months in Filings Made Easy’s encrypted database, and then permanently deleted.
Filings Made Easy has appropriate security measures in place within its database and physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information that has been collected on the Site. These measures include limiting the number of people who have physical access to Filings Made Easy’s database servers, as well as electronic security systems and password protections which guard against unauthorized access.
Filings Made Easy utilizes e-mail to communicate with customers regarding their orders and regarding features of certain products and services that were ordered. Filings Made Easy may occasionally use a customer’s Personal Information to notify the customer of Filings Made Easy’s new services and special offers via periodic mailings or e-mail updates. Customers may opt-out of these communications.
Filings Made Easy may sell or share Personal Information and Business Information of any customer or user with affiliates of Filings Made Easy and with other carefully selected companies that Filings Made Easy believes offer services and products that would potentially be of interest to that customer or user. In no event will Filings Made Easy share any credit card information of any customer or user. Customers and users that do not want such information shared may notify Filings Made Easy of such preference at customerservice@FilingsMadeEasy.com. In the event Filings Made Easy goes through a business transition, such as a merger or an acquisition of its equity interests or assets, the Personal Information and Business Information of Filings Made Easy’s customers and users will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.
Third Party Websites
Filings Made Easy may maintain links to other websites on the Site. If a user chooses to visit other websites from the Site, Filings Made Easy will not be responsible for the privacy practices or content of those other websites. It is the user’s responsibility to review the privacy policies at those websites to confirm that they are acceptable prior to use.
Legal Compliance
Although Filings Made Easy makes every effort to preserve customer and user privacy, Filings Made Easy may need to disclose or provide access to Personal Information and/or Business Information if Filings Made Easy has a good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with the law, such as in connection with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process.
